The History of
Bingo has a rather interesting story of development. The combination of the 1960
Gaming Act, which made bingo play gambling legal in members' clubs, plus the
social changes and relative affluence of the 1960's, brought about a speedy
expansion in the history of bingo clubs to play bingo. How will this affect
Bingo Play Online? The Government, eager to ensure that the rising popularity of
bingo playing did not lead to exploitation and seeing a revenue source,
introduced the 1968 Bingo Gaming Act for bingo players.
This heralded the
setting up of the Bingo Gaming Board to oversee the Bingo playing industry which
gave new jobs for the good old boys and has led to Bingo becoming the well
organized and reputable game that it is played today. Inevitably, after the
heady growth of the 1960's, the Bingo playing industry entered a period of
consolidation. By 1990 the number of licensed bingo clubs had fallen as had the
number of regular bingo players in the big bingo clubs but the independent bingo
owners were still doing very nicely. The poorer bingo playing clubs in less
attractive premises that had friendly atmospheres had closed whilst the
multi-national and more competitive bingo clubs have competed to drive the small
bingo clubs out of the game.
Prize levels too
have changed. Today nearly 700 bingo playing clubs combine every evening to play
The National Bingo Game for a single prize of up to 100,000. There is also
Sunday Bingo games in which the top prize can rise to 200,000. In addition to
the National Bingo Game several clubs will 'link' up with others to play for
joint Bingo prizes of several thousand pounds, using new digital linking
technology.
Bingo Strategy is very important in
allowing you to understand how bingo is played
Each bingo game card has 24 different preprinted numbers with a free spot in the
center. Bingo game cards come in two forms, disposable paper sheets and hard
permanent bingo cards. The paper bingo cards are marked with a special marker
called a bingo blotter and are thrown away at the end of each bingo game.
Permanent bingo cards have little shutters or windows that can be slid over top
of a number when it is called. These shutters are simply retracted at the end of
each bingo game and the bingo card is reused. The only real difference in
reference to the game is that while the numbers on a permanent bingo card remain
the same, disposable bingo cards will have new numbers each time. Bingo players
are given the option of playing more than one bingo card at a time at an
additional cost.
